helen keller, the greatest woman in the 19th century is now my role model!
Keller was a world-famous speaker and author.
She is remembered as an advocate for people with disabilities and human rights.
She was a birth control supporter and an activist for worker's right.
She founded Helen Keller International,a non-profit organisation for preventing blindness.
Keller travelled to over 39 countries, making several trips to Japan and becoming a favorite of the Japanese.
Keller met every US president in her time and was friends with many famous figures, including Alexander Graham Bell, Charlie Chaplin and Mark Twain.
Mark Twain admires her " you are the most wonderful creature on earth!"
She was fluent in English French German Greek Latin.
An illness left her blind and deaf at 19months of age.
blind and deaf and she went around the world advocating peace and love.
blind and deaf she wrote over 30 books on love and food for the soul.
blind and deaf she went all over the place, encouraging ppl who are spiritually and emotionally
dampened, asking them to treasure life and be optimistic.
so little was given to her,
yet she gave so much back.
we who can see and hear cant even be fluent in both eng and chi..
Ms Krishnan showed us a 1h documentary of the bloody cruel and heartless Rwanda genocide.
it was as bloody and as cruel and as heartless as the holocaust but this was something more.
the govenment all out to exterminate a particular race,
neighbours slashing neighbours,
frens who grew up tgt, played tgt, killed each other,
mutilating their wives,
throwing their children into the rivers.
teachers shooting their pupils,
fathers turning against their families,
pastors gathering thousands of ppl and den set fire to the church.
he UN taking months to step into action and the USA's initial rejection to recognise the crisis.
aft the documtentry if you looked around the class,
everybody was downcasted.
there was this same sad and helpless look on everybody's face.
there were tears in my eyes when i thought about why am i doing nothing here.
why m i not not out there helping ppl whose greatest wish was to eat a bowl of rice.
god gave us so much,
and we return so little..

donlet it overwhelm you so much that you cant see other possibilities.
thk bout those who were knived down in the classroom...
- No pessimist ever discovered the secret of the stars or sailed an uncharted land, or opened a new doorway for the human spirit.
- The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt within the heart.
- When one door of happiness closes, another opens; but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us.
